Argentina star, Rodrigo De Paul has revealed the most important conversation he has had with Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi’.
He said the conversation came after their World Cup defeat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, their opening game at the tournament.
Saudi Arabia shocked the world when they beat La Albiceleste 2-1 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and another defeat to Mexico could have sent Messi and Co out of the tournament.
Reports emerged that after the defeat, captain Lionel Messi gave a rousing team talk to rally his teammates for the clash against Mexico.
It seems that the 35-year-old also had a heart-to-heart conversation with De Paul between those games.
“The most important conversation I had with Messi was after the loss against Saudi Arabia. They gave us an afternoon off to see our families and we didn’t want to see anyone. We talked for 5-6 hours in which we told each other everything,’ De Paul said via journalist, Morena Beltran.
