Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Deputy, Bayo Lawal have been presented their certificates of return.
The certificates were presented to the duo by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday in Ibadan, following their emergence at the recently conducted gubernatorial election in the state.
Also receiving the certificates of return are 32 members of the state House of Assembly who emerged winners in the election.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr Adeniran Tella, at the ceremony, thanked the stakeholders for the success of the recently held elections.
Speaking at the event held at the University of Ibadan, Tella said the use of technology for the 2023 polls added value to the electoral process.
He called for the support of the political class to help the commission conduct a better exercise in coming elections.
INEC National Commissioner for Oyo, Lagos, and Ekiti states, Mr Sam Olumekun hinted that the preparation for the 2023 election commenced immediately after the 2019 polls which he claimed contributed to its success.
