The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Thursday, said it has reversed the referral of the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom to the National Disciplinary Committee.

The party had referred Ortom to the disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.

A statement issued by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary of the main opposition party, said the NWC also reverses the suspension of five others [arty members including, Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti State), H.E Ibrahim Shema (Katsina State), Sen. Pius Anyim (Ebonyi State), Prof. Dennis Ityavyar (Benue State) , Dr. Aslam Aliyu (Zamfara State)

According to him, the decision was without prejudice to the powers of the NWC to take disciplinary action against any member of the Party at any time pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).

It said the NWC charged all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of the Party across the country to be guided by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) as well as the new spirit and necessity of reconciliation, unity and harmony in the Party at this critical time.

The party urged members to remain focused as they continued to take every necessary action to recover the stolen mandate freely given by Nigerians to Party Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The development is coming days after a High Court in Makurdi stopped Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the party’s National Chairman.
